Getting started

  1. Install FunnelSleuth from a Shopify-owned installation surface.
  2. Approve read-only reporting access.
  3. Open the app from Shopify Admin → Apps.
  4. Select a comparison window and review the ranked diagnosis.

Why does the app show “No storefront sessions yet”?

Development stores and newly launched stores may not have enough processed online-store sessions. Generated products or orders do not create historical visitor journeys. Use demo mode to review the methodology while Shopify Analytics processes real traffic.

Does the app change my theme or checkout?

No. The app requests read-only reporting, theme, product, and discount access. It does not publish themes, edit checkout, inject storefront scripts, or modify products, discounts, and orders.

Why can percentages overlap?

Device, traffic source, geography, and landing page describe overlapping views of the same sessions. Each lens is ranked against the store-level drop, so percentages from different lenses should not be added together.

Does a nearby theme or app event prove causation?

No. Timing creates an investigation lead. Validate it against the affected funnel stage, storefront QA, release notes, and a controlled rollback where appropriate.

How do I remove my data?

Uninstall the app from Shopify Admin. Store-specific session records are removed through the uninstall and mandatory privacy-webhook process. You can also email a deletion request with your store domain.

Which comparison window should I use?

Start with seven complete days for a recent, high-traffic change. Use 14 or 28 days when traffic is lower or weekly demand varies. Always compare the same-length preceding period.

Why does the app need read-only access?

read_reports powers aggregate Shopify Analytics. read_themes, read_products, and read_discounts provide change context for diagnostic investigation. The app does not request permission to edit products, themes, discounts, orders, customers, or checkout.

What does the evidence label mean?

Evidence labels combine practical impact, eligible sample size, daily traffic clustering, and multiple-comparison correction. They prioritize investigation and do not prove that a ranked driver caused the change.

How does billing work?

Each store receives a 60-day free trial. After the trial, Shopify bills $29.99 USD every 30 days until the merchant cancels the subscription through Shopify Admin.

Can I request a refund?

If the core product cannot be used as described after troubleshooting, contact support within 14 days of the first paid charge. Approved refunds are processed through Shopify.

Current service availability is published on the status page.
